1. Scope and controller
DMR Labs Ltd (“After”, “we”, “us”) operates the After mobile application and related support pages. DMR Labs Ltd is the data controller for the personal information described here. This policy applies when you create or join an event, contribute a photo, use account features, contact support or visit these pages.
2. Information we process
Account and profile information
Your display name, optional profile details, locale, preferences and, if you link an account, the identifier and limited profile information provided through Sign in with Apple.
Event and participation information
Event title, schedule, venue text, invite and RSVP status, membership, organizer settings, contribution limits and participation activity.
Photos and interactions
Photos you intentionally capture or select, their upload and capture metadata, reactions, favorites, comments, reports and moderation actions. Event media is not used for advertising.
Technical and support information
App version, device/platform class, coarse locale, anonymous installation or account identifiers, lifecycle step, upload success or error class and the information you include in a support request. Analytics is designed not to include photo bytes, private invite secrets, exact venue text, contact lists or precise location.
3. Why we use information
- To create, join and manage private or public event experiences.
- To accept photo contributions, keep them sealed and reveal them under the event rules.
- To sync account and event state, deliver optional notifications and restore eligible access.
- To provide reactions, recaps, moderation, reporting and participant controls.
- To secure the service, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and respond to support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
Depending on the context and your location, these activities rely on providing the service you request, our legitimate interests in operating it safely, consent for optional device permissions or a legal obligation.
4. Camera, photos and notifications
After requests camera or photo-library permission only after you choose the matching action. Photo access is limited to the photos you select where the operating system supports limited access. Saving a revealed photo to your library happens only when you request it. Notification permission is optional and can be changed in iOS Settings.
After does not require precise background location. Where supported, unnecessary device and GPS metadata is removed before upload; normalized capture time may remain to support event ordering.
6. Retention and deletion
We keep account and event information while needed to provide the service. Deleted data may remain for a limited period in backups, security records or records required by law. Reports and abuse-prevention records may be retained longer when necessary to protect users and the service.
You can remove eligible contributions, leave events and start account deletion in Profile → Account & Data → Delete Account. Account deletion removes or anonymizes associated account data, subject to event-ownership transfer, safety, fraud-prevention and legal obligations. If you cannot access the app, follow the instructions on our Support page.
7. Your choices and rights
You can manage camera, photo and notification permissions in iOS Settings; manage event membership, reporting and account deletion inside After; and contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or a portable copy where applicable. We may need limited information to verify a request.
If local law provides the right to complain to a data-protection authority, you may do so in your country or region.
8. Children
After is not directed to children under 13. Event organizers are responsible for having the authority and consent required to invite participants and collect event photos. If you believe a child provided personal information without appropriate permission, contact us.
9. International processing and security
Service providers may process information outside your country. We use contractual, access-control and technical safeguards appropriate to the service, including private media storage and event-scoped access. No online service can promise absolute security; keep original copies of important photos and protect private invite codes.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product, providers or law changes. The effective date above will change, and material changes may also be presented in the app.
